Gerald T. Bowns, M.D.
Dr. Bowns is a native of Southern California. He graduated
from Brigham Young University and attended medical school
at UCLA. Following a residency in internal medicine and several
years serving his country with the Army Medical Corps, he
completed a residency in ophthalmology at the USC/LAC Medical
Center and the Doheny Eye Center. He was the director of the
residency program at USC for one year, then spent an additional
year at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles as a fellow in pediatric
ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology
and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Bowns and his wife Barbara have five children. His interests
outside of medicine include painting, woodworking, amateur
historian, stamp collecting and classical languages.
