Meriel L. Wu, M.D.
Dr. Wu was born and raised in Los Angeles, a third generation
Californian and a third generation physician. She graduated
from Stanford University and received her medical degree from
the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. After
completing two years of residency in internal medicine, she
returned to Southern California for her training in ophthalmology
at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital (Now Queen of Angels-Hollywood
Presbyterian Medical Center) and joined Ralph Riffenburgh,
MD in 1978.
Dr. Wu is a former Chairman of Ophthalmology at St. Luke
Hospital and has been past Chairman of Ophthalmology at Huntington
Memorial Hospital. She is a Fellow of the American Academy
of Ophthalmology and a Diplomate of the American Board of
Ophthalmology.
Dr. Wu is married to Nywood Wu and has three daughters. She
has served on the board of trustees of the Chandler School
and the Westridge School. Her interests outside of medicine
include cooking, gardening, boating, skiing, fishing and travel.
